We are committed to the safety and health of everyone in our company, regardless of position, and others who may be affected by our work, and our safety record reflects this commitment. We understand that there are many hazards that come with our field of work, and we are adamant about wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and maintaining our gear in top condition.
Safety training is conducted frequently to ensure all potential hazards of a job function are known to all involved in a project. Project specific Health and Safety Plans are prepared for large projects, remote locations, and other sites when needed.
We feel two excerpts from our Health and Safety Policy describe well our approach:
The aims of this policy are summarized in two short sentences. First, that by following this policy and using good judgment, we can avoid most work related accidents and injuries. Second, we fully expect to maintain a working environment where accidents are not expected to occur.
We recognize that it is a business necessity to ensure the health and safety of anyone who may be affected by our activities, from our employees to the general public.
To achieve this, we have established a progressive health and safety program which is based upon the principles of planning, implementing, monitoring and review. It actively involves our employees, subcontractors and partners in developing, promoting and sustaining a positive health and safety culture.
The implementation and success of this program is dependent upon the cooperation and commitment of all employees. We are committed to:
- Developing safety conscious employees by providing information, training, instruction and supervision, which will enable them to comply with all health and safety requirements and to perform their duties injury free.
- Promoting a working environment where everyone takes safety personally by understanding their impact on health and safety, looking out for their own and their colleagues’ safety, and seeking guidance if they are involved in an activity which they believe to be unsafe.
- Continuing to seek employee participation and input for program improvement.
Stay safe out there.
